What is your background in Sales and Distribution?
GPI is part of The Georgetown Group of companies which is a family owned enterprise consisting of Georgetown Publications, Elliott Custom Brokers, and Georgetown Terminal Warehouses.
The Georgetown Group of companies has enjoyed success since John Elliott founded the customs brokerage arm of the business in 1958. Shortly thereafter, in 1964, distribution services were added. The Elliott family built the business from a small community custom broker serving the local area, into an international customs broker and a leading Canadian distribution partner for domestic and international publishers.
In 2002, Georgetown Publications, a sales and marketing organization, was formed to represent publishers who wanted sales and marketing representation in Canada in addition to their logistics needs. We handle all elements of sales, fulfilment and data management for our client publishers and our management team has a depth of experience with different publishers, retailers, and distribution companies.
In addition to the traditional selling and fulfillment functions, a number of our key customers now require accurate, frequent, and complete title information data-feeds in order to support their bibliographic and supply chain management systems. GPI provides all such required information on behalf of our publishers electronically to our key customers.
